pThe sidewalks lining Friday#8217;s ticker-tape parade are open to all members of the public. The city will set up a large screen near City Hall Park for members of the public to watch the ceremony. The city will make a limited number of tickets available to the public as there is very limited space./p
pThe last ticker-tape parade was held in February 2008 and reportedly cost $331,000 for the New York Giants after their Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots./p

Game 2 of the 2009 Major League Baseball World Series in New York saw nearly the same pitching dynamic as that seen in Game 1, where the Philadelphia Phillies simply dominated the game under the guidance and great pitching of Cliff Lee. Game 2 also had its pitching star in the New York Yankees#039; A. J. Burnett. Although he did not strike out 10 batters and go the distance like Lee in Game 1, A. J. Burnett struck out 9 in seven innings and led the Yankees to a win in Game 2 of the World Series, sending it to Philadelphia in a 1-1 tie instead of the Phillies being up two games to zero, a deficit World Series baseball history has shown has not been kind to those trailing (with only three World Series winners out of 24 teams that began the Series 0-2). br /br /And he did it, he said, with a little help from the Phillies#039; Cliff Lee… br /br /A. J. Burnett said in the Game 2 post-game press conference afterward that he had watched Cliff Lee#039;s interview the night before, after Philadelphia had embarrassed the hometown Yankees 6-1 on the back of solid hitting and even more solid pitching. Burnett recalled, Actually, I sat and watched his interview… and he talked about confidence. And he talked about belief in his stuff. And all I told myself night and was the same thing. I went out [in Game 2] with confidence and… the game just rolled by. br /br /And roll it did. A. J. Burnett handed the ball over to Mariana Rivera, perhaps the best relief pitcher in the game. Six outs later and Game 2 of the 2009 World Series was in the bag. New York Yankees 3, Philadelphia Phillies 1. br /br /The Phillies#039; only run (from 6 hits) came early when Raul Ibanez scored off of a Matt Stairs single in the 2nd inning. br /br /The Yankees scored three runs off of 8 hits. Two of the runs came from single home runs by Mark Teixeira and Hideki Matsui. br /br /Of course, the game wasn#039;t without its controversial moments. It seems that a bad call on a double play in the top of the 8th inning may have cost the Philadelphia Phillies potential runs. According to the New York Times, first base umpire Brian Gorman made two close calls on double plays Thursday night, one that favored the Phillies — and after reviewing the playback after the game, a good call — and the other that did not. Gorman admitted that it was a bad call after seeing the film. To his credit, even in playback, the ball was seen entering the glove (not yet in contact) when Chase Utley#039;s foot hit the bag. If Utley had been called safe, the Phillies would have had runners on first and third with two out and Ryan Howard at the plate. br /br /If… br /br /Not only did this help ensure a Yankees victory in Game 2, but it also gave every Yankees hater in the world (and there is a disproportionate number of them) more reason to despise the Bronx Bombers (through no fault of the Yankees, but that doesn#039;t matter to a Yankees hater — ask a Red Sox fan). br /br /On a brighter note for the Philadelphia Phillies fans, Chase Utley reached base on a walk that set a record 27 consecutive games in which he has reached based. pYesterday, after a full day on a photo shoot at Chateau Marmont, Lindsay decided to unwind with friends at club Wonderland in Hollywood. But after she left the club, things got really interesting./p

pLindsay hopped into a car with a 16-year-old paparazzo, Austin Visschedyk, who sped off down Hollywood Blvd., ran a red light and got pulled over by the cops — as Lindsay hid in the back seat!/p

pOur photographer on the scene told us:/p

ulLindsay was on her photo shoot at the Chateau Marmont for what seemed like an eternity — from 3:00 pm to 1:30 am. After that she went to Wonderland night club with a few friends at 1:40 am. When she left the night club, at 2:20 AM, she jumped inside of a 16-year-old paparazzo#039;s car! He was speeding down Hollywood and when he passed the red light on the corner of Hollywood and La Brea, the cops pulled him over! Lindsay looked so embarrassed, she just hid her face in the backseat the entire time!/ul

pI guess when you don#039;t have a license, you can#039;t be too picky who your designated driver is, but next time, Lindz, pick someone who#039;s had their license for more than a minute!/p

The final film in the Futurama series caters the most to diehard fans. The gags, characters, running themes, and inside jokes fuel the majority of the show, leaving the usual creative science fiction parodies rather lacking. Familiarity with the regular crew of the Planet Express is essential for Into the Wild Green Yonder, although many of the funniest riffs belong to the severed head of Richard Nixon, who is once again the president (of Earth) - for which you only need to be well-versed in his shortcomings.br /br /Popular Mars Vegas is demolished for New Vegas, an even more luxurious gambling paradise, run by Amy#039;s wealthy father Leo Wong. Leela (Katey Sagal) becomes concerned with the destruction of the environment and wildlife from Wong#039;s building plans, and sets out to save the Violet Dwarf star, a lush, inhabited planet full of life that marks the final demolition zone for a giant miniature golf course being constructed as the central attraction for New Vegas. After she saves the very last desert muck leech from extinction, she becomes the leader of a band of protesting environmentalists (eco-feminists) determined to put a stop to the devastating development.br /br /Meanwhile, Fry (Billy West) discovers he#039;s a mind reader, and is introduced to a secret underground organization known as the Legion of Madfellows. He realizes that it is also his destiny to save the Violet Star, despite the rising forces of government (in the form of Nixon#039;s head) and space police (the overconfident Captain of the Nimbus, Zapp Brannigan) bent on stopping both Fry and the pesky eco-feminists. Wildcard robot Bender (John Di Maggio) plays all sides for his own selfish, despicable gain (as usual), while having an affair with the Donbot#039;s wife Fanny.br /br /Into the Wild Green Yonder does the best job of all four Futurama films in concealing the fact that it is several episodes tied together, creating a fairly linear storyline that doesn#039;t deviate as much in common goals and plots for each of the characters as the previous movies. Nixon#039;s head and Zapp Brannigan once again get the best lines in the show and steal the spotlight from many of the other, subtler jokes, most of which depend on the viewer#039;s knowledge of the Futurama universe. Snoop Dogg gets a cameo as the Supreme Court Chief Justice (a few of the other judges include the heads of Bjork, Janeane Garofalo and Paula Abdul), as does Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane. Nearly every major and minor character throughout the series makes a brief appearance (yes, even Hedonismbot) and the conclusion wraps things up neatly (almost as if the four feature-length films were meant to close the series as opposed to jumpstart viewer interest). It#039;s well worthwhile for followers of the previous films and the regular TV show; however, this isn#039;t the episode to start with to become a fanatic.br /br /

This is the closest finale I#039;ve seen on So You Think You Can Dance. Every other season there was a clear cut leader, but this year… how do you even guess. Each dancer has proved themselves worthy of the Season 4 Finale: Joshua Allen, Steven Twitch Boss, Courtney Galiano and Katee Shean.br /br /Tonight#039;s show also showed why Cat Deeley is the best hostess on a talent show, she does the best interviews. Her sense of humor brought out the best in all four of the finalist. You just never know what Cat will do next, as proven by the golden grill teeth she took out of Twitch#039;s mouth last week.br /br /Getting to the dancing of the evening, each finalist would have to do a solo and a routine with each other dancer and a group routine or two. Unbelievable, they learn five or six new numbers in a week. Not to mention any dances performed tomorrow night. They did look absolutely exhausted by the end.br /br /Starting things off were Twitch and Courtney and a Hip Hop routine by Tabitha and Napoleon. Set to Church by T-Pain featuring Teddy Versed. It was so fast, very cool. I just always think Courtney is the weakest, then I see her dance and she is always good. Twitch just has #039;it#039;, something that compels you to watch his every move. The judges loved it, and Nigel Lythgoe moved away from Mary Murphy as she hit that note only dogs can hear. He said it would be the only thing he wouldn#039;t miss after next week.br /br /Courtney soloed to They Weren#039;t There by Missy Higgins. Mandy Moore kind of talked down Courtney#039;s abilities only saying she had more to learn. Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe agreed that she was the surprise in the top four.br /br /Katee and Joshua graced us with a Lyrical Wade Robson routine set to Slow Dancing In A Burning Room by John Mayer. It was amazing. I think this was the best I have ever seen of the two, but then I think that every time I see them dance together. They just sell the choreography every time. Nigel pointed out that as an untrained dancer, Joshua has complete control of his movements and is brilliant. br /br /Katee and Courtney danced a Tyce Diorio Broadway routine set to The Trolley Song by Rufus Wainwright. It was Broadway and a half. The costumes were awful. Big puffy southern belle dresses and umbrellas.br /br /Steven Twitch Boss gave us a solo set to It Was All In Your Mind by Wade Robson. He told Cat Deeley that if he had not made the Top 20 of SYTYCD this year he would have joined the U.S. Navy. It came down to Twitch and Hawk last year for the Top 20. Glad he is here this year, those judges know something.br /br /Joshua and Twitch had to battle out the dance floor in a Russian Trepad set to Tchaikovsky#039;s The Nutcracker Suite. The tricks and jumps were amazing. Joshua, with his hulk, can jump straight up in a spit jump higher than Twitch#039;s head. It was amazing. Twitch proved his strength in floor work with the traditional style Russian squat dancing. I think the judges are definitely leaning toward the guys as a winner, probably Joshua.br /br /Katee gave her solo to Hide And Seek by Imogen Heep. She is amazing, but I think this show was the best thing for her. I don#039;t know if she has the ability to pound the streets and audition. She has really come out of her shell and never missed a beat or been in the bottom 3 this season.br /br /Twitch and Katee took the stage with a Fox Trot choreographed by Tony Meredith. The song was Feeling Good by Michael Boble. It was a beautiful dance and again showed off Katee#039;s lines and Twitch#039;s strength. His lines were not good, but it didn#039;t matter on this one to the judges.br /br /Joshua soloed to (Not Just) Knee Deep by Funkedelic. He is truly amazing to watch and he went right out to the judges stand and danced right out of his shoes. Looking so grown up now with his braces off for the SYTYCD Season 4 Finale. Nigel Lythgoe told him he set the standard for untrained dancers on the show.br /br /Joshua and Courtney then danced a Jason Gilkison Jive to The Dirty Boogie by The Brian Setzer Orchestra. The best thing about it was the song. Exhaustion finally started to show in both dancers.The timing was off on almost all of it. While Mary and Mandy were willing to give it a pass, Nigel had to tell them like it is. He does it in a way that makes it difficult to boo. Every thing he noted is correct. His main point is that dancers learn where they can breath during a dance, but these contestants aren#039;t having time to learn that.br /br /The lesson he taught, the routine was tough on you. Tough, that#039;s a dancer#039;s life, learn to deal with it.br /br /It did not get better with the group number finale choreographed by Mia Michaels. It was a strange Celtic/African mixture that might have been better if all four SYTYCD finalist weren#039;t on their last legs. Again the costume were atrocious with the men wearing a sort of extra long kilt. Sometimes Mia gets a little too different.br /br /Overall this was the best season yet for So You Think You Can Dance, I think. My prediction for winner is Joshua Allen, though Katee or Twitch could easily steal it away. Every one of the dancers from the top twenty and even the Las Vegas auditions should have enormous careers. The choreography on SYTYCD is unbeatable for any show on television and has the Emmy Awards to prove it. br /br /Cast your vote for your favorite tonight, and we will have our SYTYCD Season 4 winner tomorrow. Good luck to all four of the finalists.
